Organic cotton, locally grown and low carbon

INSTITUTE

We are very proud to work with locally grown organic cotton.

PLUVIAL

No irrigation is used to grow cotton and no precious water is wasted.

LOCAL

We work closely with Burkina Faso farmers to supply cotton produced in a sustainable manner for all our products.

LOW CARBON

Our cotton produces 7.58 kgCO2e per kg of fabric. This is very low according to industry standards.

Durable dyeing techniques

Cabes engages in its work using GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified reactive dyes, fully compliant with international environmental standards.

NATURAL DYE

Some of our products are made from natural dyes. You can find them marked (icon) in our BOUTIQUE. CABES supplies local ingredients to produce a range of typical Burkinabé natural dyes. For each ingredient, a range of shades is available.

AUTONOMIZE THE COMMUNITIES TO THE BURKINA FASO

CABES has a network of 60 associations and 2,000 craftsmen (and we continue to grow!). Our network of weaving is mostly made up of women. Our goal is to create meaningful work for our community networks, many of which come from marginalized groups, and live in areas affected by climate change, insecurity and migration. Our social workers work with community groups to assess the impact of work and ensure that orders have a positive impact on people's lives. One of the tools we use in all our workshops is the Ethical Fashion Initiative Code of Conduct.
